As per the owner, a brief description of the rod is as follows:

Thomas and Thomas embarked on a upgrade to its graphite “Special Dry Fly” line up in the early eighties. I contracted with Tom Dorsey to build me two rods, one was an eight foot five weight and the other was an eight and a half foot six weight.

This rod exhibits the spigot ferrule design that T&T worked on and it super ceded the sleeve over design that up till then was the norm. It has all the bells and whistles that T&T was and is noted for, sanded and gloss finished blank, tipped wraps, a nickel silver up locking reel seat stamped with the T&T name and logo, with a rosewood mortised spacer. Included also is the original bag with stiffener and brass capped labeled rod tube.

As a further enticement, Troy Jacques of T&T has offered the owner of this rod a thirty percent reduction in the price of any new T&T graphite rod should the owner wish to trade it in for a newer model. That’s at least a two hundred dollar plus saving in US funds. I asked if this same reduction would apply to any of their cane rods, his answer was a polite “no”.
