John Hoffmann

John has been a passionate fly fisherman for over 30 years. 

He has fished from the Bow River in Alberta to the salmon rivers of the Gaspe and has fly fished the Catskills, Bahamas and the Yucatan.

He rarely fishes with flies that he has not tied himself.

John says, “Mine just work. Period!”

After retiring from the advertising business, John and his wife now live on the banks of the Grand River.

Today John is part of the Pro Staff Team at WILSON’S where he conducts classes in fly tying, fly fishing and also guides on the Grand River.

In recent years John has fished using only Soft Hackled flies and has developed successful patterns to match the hatches of the Grand River.
